Privacy Policy
Effective July 20, 2026 · Samir is a service of Betryx LLC (USA). Contact: hello@meetsamir.com
Families trust us with the most personal thing they have — a parent's voice and life story. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the promises we hold ourselves to.
1. What we collect
- From the buyer: name, email, phone number, shipping address (for printed editions), and payment confirmation. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see them.
- From the Storyteller: their WhatsApp number, their voice recordings, and the stories, names and memories they choose to share in the interviews.
- Project material you send us: photos, notes and preferences (for example, topics to avoid).
- From the website: if you request the free 40-questions PDF, your email address. Our website does not use advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
For one purpose: producing your family's memoir and running the service around it — conducting the interviews, transcribing and writing the chapters, translating them, printing and shipping editions, hosting your private family page and voice archive, sending you progress updates, and providing support. We also use your email to deliver the free PDF if you requested it, and to contact you about your order.
3. AI, with boundaries
Samir uses AI services to transcribe recordings and help draft chapters, always with human review. We use these providers under agreements that prohibit using your content to train their models. Your family's voice recordings and stories are processing material for your book — nothing else.
4. Who touches your data
- Stripe — payment processing.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — the messaging channel where interviews happen, under Meta's own terms.
- AI transcription and writing providers — under no-training, confidentiality terms.
- Print partners — receive only the final book file and the shipping address.
- Form and hosting providers — for the website and lead form.
We never sell personal information, and we never share the content of your family's stories with anyone not needed to produce your order.
5. Where it lives, and for how long
Data is processed and stored in the United States. Your voice archive and memoir are kept so your family can return to them — that permanence is part of the product. If you want anything deleted — a recording, a chapter, or the entire project — email us and we will delete it within 30 days, keeping only what tax and accounting law requires us to retain about the transaction itself.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, we honor the same set of rights: ask us what we hold about you or your Storyteller, get a copy of it, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@meetsamir.com from the address on the order and we'll act on it. If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), these are your statutory rights and we honor them without discrimination; you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
7. The Storyteller's rights come first
Even though the buyer pays for the project, the Storyteller always keeps the right to pause, to say "don't write that part," or to stop entirely. If a Storyteller contacts us directly asking for their recordings to be deleted, we honor it — whoever paid.
8. Children
Samir is bought by adults and records adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in any meaningful way, we'll post it here with a new effective date, and for material changes we'll email active customers.
